the Garand was the best main battle rifle due to accuracy, reliability, easy to handle, and it was the only reliable semi-auto rifle issued in mass...

garand wasnt that accurate cant go past bolt action rifles when it comes to that. Depends what way u look at it russians had by far most reliable and robust weapons germany had best enginneered but were too complex and not relaible americans had good weapons so either russians or america

They say due to Russian poverty the Russian weapons were cheap and jammed easily. I would agree that the M1 grand was probably the best mass produced gun because it was in server for a long time.

Hand's down the best weapon of WW2 was the legendary Colt 1911, designed by none other than John Moses Browning himself.

It was realiable, unequivocally accurate and most importantly of all a .45. I own a Colt 1911A1 and from personal experience have found it to be one of the most accurate handguns ever created. It has a natural feel in your hands (rivaled only by the Colt Single Action army; a legend in itself) and perfect balance. It's thin and yet very sturdy. The overall feeling is hard to describe, but it is very satisfying. The kick is heavy (it is a .45 after all) but it feels good, unlike the .44 magnum which literally rips your hand off.

In terms of other weapons, the 1911 was superiod to the luger and the walther, both of which were fairly modest handguns. There are many interesting war time stories (from WW1 and WW2) about selected usage of the Colt 1911.

Alot of soldiers in WW2 owe their lives to this amazing handgun.

As for rifles, the best were probably German or American. Best scopes were hands down German (Karl Zeiss). The Garand is an impressive firearm for its time, and considerbaly accurate even though it is a semi-auto. Having the choice between a bolt action and a semi-auto, in real combat, I would definately go with the semi-auto. The reason is that in war, the most common form of confrontation is one of complete surprise. In such a case firepower precedes skill, and the side with the least firepower always suffered the most casualties. You would probably notice in all the war video's you ever seen that almost all soldiers follow the exact same tactic in a firefight. They supress the nemy with a large bullet barrage and then advance after things settle down. Basically, its spray and prey.

no beacause of their poverty they designed weapons that were cheap and they had to be reliable because russia would have one of the worst climates in the world german weapons froze or jammed constantly while the russians would keep going and going

No Zydee, that isn't true. The Nagant rifles were not very impressive to begin with, but combined with age and poor maintenance they were pure hell. Almost any German rifle was far superior to most Russian rifles (the exception being the Tokarev and a few others that were not commonly used on the eastern theatre of operations).

The PPSH, for example, was extremely prone to jamming. Although its rate of fire and almost complete absence of recoil make it an impressive weapon, it was mechanically unsound.

MOST RUSSIAN WEAPONS WERE NOT RELIABLE AND OF VERY POOR QUALITY!

This was circumvented by crafty soldiers and mass production, but the issue never really went away. In terms of engineering they Nagant was average (for the bolt era) but in terms of manufacture it was piss poor.

If you were to ask any Russian soldier, who fought in WW2, he would tell you that anything was better than what they had. However, when you're faced with death if you retreat and almost certain death if you advance, then you learn to improvise with what little weaponry you are given.

I agree with you on the Garand, it was the weapon that won WWII, in the lines of bolt action rifles, hands down the kar98k was supreme. I own a Mosin Nagant, and even after cleaning and lubricating the action it still jams. The bolt is poorly designed and rusts easily. By far theGerman military was the most technologically advanced, and the most emchanized. Their Stg 44 was way ahead of its time, but sadly wasnt mass produced mainly due to Hitlers dissapproval of the weapon.
Again Russian weapons were of the worst qaulity. The Dp-28 was a hunk of shit, the weapon and the magazine were bulky and hard to reload. And we all know what happened to the tripod soon after. And their grenades were prone to exploding with the slightest of tampering.

I think the MG42 was the best weapon, it was the best MG by miles and is still used in a lot armys today (a little bit changed of caurse).

And the germans tanks were very good too, Tiger and Tiger II. Unfortunately they were too big and a bit complex. But if there was enough fuel for the enginge these tanks were really miles better then those american shit tanks.

And by the way the Mosin-Nagant rifle wasnt actually a russian weapon. It was a american weapon

Nagant not a Russian weapon? Are you on crack? It was first designed and maufactured in Russia, and even named "Trih lineyka", referring to its specific sight and windage adjustments.
