Create a video of any game you want, the best one wins a prize.


The Rules

Must be your own work.
Must display "www.GamingPerfection.com" somewhere on the screen the entire duration of the video.
Must be produced at no more than 2Mb/s (to stop people waiting to stream forever to watch it).
Must be uploaded onto Gaming Perfection no later than the 31st January.


The Prize
Your choice of any game (not including bundles) that can be downloaded from Steam, such as;

Call of Duty + Call of Duty: United Offensive
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Grand Theft Auto IV
Half Life 2
Left 4 Dead 2

How do I create a video?

How will the best video be decided?
As I'm paying for the winner's game, I (Dan) will decided which video I think is best! ;)
What should I make my video about?
Anything you want. It could be a general "ownage" video, or a guide on how to do something in game. It's up to you.
How many videos can I submit?
As many as you want.
How do I upload files to GP?
I've increased everyone's maximum upload to 25MB, which should be plenty to allow you to upload your videos directly to GP. However, let me know if you suffer from any "time out" errors and I'll adjust some settings.
What if I win?
Tell me the game you want and I'll buy it for you :).

Anyone can tell me if its even possible to make a demo from the Cod 1 SP?

Edit: Can anyone tell me the commands for Cod1/UO to remove things like your compass and ammo stuff from your screen?

I dont know about taking a demo for cod1 SP, but there is a command cg_draw2d that you use in UO that will take everything off the screen and make it look like a movie. It has only worked for me if I use seismovision so far. It does not work with the stock ingame demo player because it is considered a cheat code.

At 900MB, it's unlikely to be a bit rate of 1Mb/s. The total size of the file is unimportant hard disk space isn't an issue, it's just the bit rate that's important as people won't wait ages to watch a video ;).

How do I find out the bit rate? I made a vid back in Oct. but Youtube disliked the songs there - they cut off my audio, so I deleted it. :P

Depending on the software you use, it should tell you when you publish/compress/convert it. If you've already made a file then right click it, and click properties (then details on vista) and it'll tell you the bitrate.

If you need more than 25MB upload because your video is long that's fine, as long as the bitrate no more that 1Mb/s.
